{{19, 22}, {43, 50}}

Dot is Flat, so nested products are spliced in and an empty Dot[] disappears.

$ wo 'Dot[a, Dot[b, c], Dot[], d]'
a . b . c . d

$ wo 'Attributes[Dot]'
{Flat, OneIdentity, Protected}
